Karachi traffic authorities have revised the speed limit on Shahrah-e-Faisal, setting it at 70 km/h for cars and motorcycles, according to a notification issued by Deputy Inspector General Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah.
Heavy vehicles remain capped at 30 km/h
The notification says the speed limit for heavy vehicles on the same road has been kept unchanged at 30 km/h. The updated directive is meant to regulate traffic flow on one of Karachi’s busiest arteries.
What changed from the earlier rule
Earlier in November last year, the speed limit for cars and motorcycles on major roads in Karachi had been set at 60 km/h, while the 30 km/h limit for heavy traffic across the city remained in place.
