Cargo Plane Crash Investigation Updates

The investigation team probing the cargo plane crash in Karachi has returned to Islamabad after completing the initial phase of its inquiry, according to sources. The 11-member team, led by Bureau of Safety Investigation chief Air Commodore Ahsan Nauman, arrived in Karachi two days ago to examine the accident.

What investigators reviewed in Karachi

During the visit, the team examined the aircraft’s maintenance records, ownership documents and other relevant material. Before leaving, investigators also inspected the wreckage recovered from the sea.

Sources said the debris recovered so far was not enough to determine the full cause of the crash.

Next step depends on key recovered parts

The investigators are expected to return to Karachi once key components, including the aircraft’s engine and flight data recorder, also known as the black box, are recovered, so they can continue the inquiry.
